Shadow Stamping

Time for my latest entry to the Less is More Challenge.  This week it is a

                                      ONE LAYER CARD

that has evidence evidence of

Shadow Stamping

Lots of great entries (as usual) so far.  It was while looking at these entries that I found Jane's (Onions and Paper) beautiful card where she had used chalks to create the shadow.  Light bulb moment!  I haven't used my chalks for years. The first task was to find them!  Surprisingly, I found them in an obvious place.   I had the idea for the card already but wasn't sure what medium to use to colour but I wanted it to be subtle - so thank you Jane.

I must confess that this card is my third attempt. The other two were spoiled at the last minute by ink smudges.   I'm sure that you know how that feels. They are really tiny but there is nowhere to hide with one layer cards. I used a Spellbinder die as a mask before stamping the Clarity Stamp trees  - the second impression was stamped without re-inking. ( Distress Ink Peeled Paint)  Next came the tricky bit. I used the same die to emboss without cutting. I then replaced the die and used chalks to colour. The sentiment is from a set by Imagination Crafts. Phew!! No smudges this time.
Now I am off to see if I can do something with those smudged cards.

Really intrigued how you managed to emboss the circle without cutting through, lovely card. :)

Hi Lilian, thanks for coming to visit. Unlike me, you certainly seem to have your mojo back! This is a super card and looking back your recent posts I particularly love the retro 60's one and the paper pieced circles. Hopefully, now that the sunnier days and lighter nights are coming in I'll get back into more regular blogging! Suze xx

This looks gorgeous, I hope that you managed to salvage something from the smudged ones to make non-one layer cards!
Thanks so much
Chrissie
