Bag Lady

I had a table at a Charity fashion show yesterday and my handbag gift bags attracted some attention. I will now have to make some more before my next event on Saturday.  Here are two more of my designs. These didn't come home with me

The lady next to me was selling real handbags and I found myself studying them for fresh ideas.

Designer Handbags

I am liking this handbag designer role - albeit mini handbags made from card.  I have mastered the assembly of the Tonic Kensington Handbag die cut bag so have been working on variations.

Here are two of those that I have completed.

Tonic Studios Handbag

I bought the Tonic Studios Kensington Handbag die some weeks ago and have finally got round to trying it out.  I was initially a bit perplexed as to how to assemble it so went on to the Tonic Studios Website where I found  a tutorial.

The body of the bag measures 10cm in width and 9cm in height so perfect as a gift bag for a small item.  I'm already designing variations in my head now that I've got the basics under my belt.

81 Years Young

Another commission this time. Last year I made an 80th birthday card for a friend to give to a special lady. The recipient was delighted with the result so -one year on - I was asked to make another.

 I used the Tonic Affection dies for this one. They are guaranteed to produce a professional result without too much effort.

 

The sentiment was printed on the computer. I added some die cut flowers and foliage ( free with a magazine) and finished it off with a pearl embellishment.

A Variation on a Theme

I know that I am in danger now of boring both you and me with my insistence in getting value from a recent purchase  but I am going ahead anyway.

Here is the latest Mother's Day card:

This is identical to a previous card that I made.  The only difference is the choice of card that was cut with the respective dies. This only goes to show how versatile the product is ( Tonic dies).

Another Mother's Day Card

Here I am again with another card for Mother's Day using the Tonic Affections collection of dies. Not bored yet with coming up with alternative designs but I do yearn to get out the stamps and ink pads!

 

This time there is no matting and layering (except for the addition of the sentiment) Instead I applied two dies directly to the 6" white base card to create a cut out front. I used silver mirror card to cut the Mother's Day die and then added a red insert to create a contrast to show off the detail of the die cut.

 

 

 
 

 

This is such an easy card to execute and would be perfect for a wedding invitation. Just add die cut initials of the bride and groom in the central heart space.

Still Working the same dies!

Missed the deadline  for posting a card a day using one collection of dies! It is now 12.05am so I will pretend that this is yesterday's post - Day 3.

Ok ... here is another Mother's Day card that I made using the Tonic Affections dies purchased recently.

 I do feel guilty that I have created this 6" (15cm) card entirely out of die cuts. No stamps or additional embellishments were used in the creation of this card! I have resisted the urge to add even a single pearl gem.  Maybe next time....

I used a cream base card , cream card and gold pearl card.

30th Birthday

I made this card recently for a 30th birthday as well as a sterling silver and pearl bracelet. 

The recipient has been a dancer from a young age and is now a dance teacher alongside her day job. So I searched the Silhouette America site for a download and found this very appropriate Scottish dancer file and set my Silhouette  Cameo to work. I am still surprised that I can find file downloads that match even the most obscure topic on the site  - bearing in mind that it is essentially for the American market. Mind you, there are probably many Scottish Country dancing societies across America!!

And... to make use of my Tonic purchase detailed yesterday, I used some of the dies to build the card. (The cutting of the dancer was not a straightforward affair as the file came with  separate elements which I had to join together and then cut as an outline.)
Text was also cut using the Cameo.

 Here is the Freshwater Pearl bracelet that accompanied the card.
