Boys will be boys

Update 18th July
I have also entered this card at Mo's Digital Challenge. I hope that it is OK to used a card that I made last week!

The challenge this week set by Susan Raihala on her blog was to make the recipient laugh with the design choice. Now I don't have and funny stamps or sentiments so, somewhat stumped, I thought that I would have to give this one a miss. However, I remembered this digital stamp purchased from Mo's Digital Pencil that always makes me chuckle when I see it because it brings back memories of my children.

Having had three boys that have all gone through the stage where their only goal in life seemed to be to beat their previous score on some video game, I can relate to this image. " In a minute" was a phrase that was always in the air when they were asked to do something more mundane ( as they saw it).

I am pleased to say that it was only a stage in the journey that they have all taken into adulthood. If you force yourself to look back in time to your own teenage years, whether that be near or far, then you will probably find that, you too had an all absorbing pastime that prevented you from connecting to the real world for a time ..................well, well, I've realised that I'm still there....every night with my crafting saying ......"In a minute" !!!

Materials used:
Image - video boy - Mo's Digital Pencil.
text - computer font
Coloured pens - Promarkers

I notice you put this image directly onto the card and then used alcohol markers to color. I've been trying to figure out how to do this without having the marker bleed to the inside. Can you advise me as to how you do this?

Hi Judy
In answer to your question - There is always the possibility of the pens bleeding through to the other side. If this happens, I put in a paper insert to write the message on. It is attached with double sided tape which I fix about a centimetre away from the fold (front) so that when the card is opened the insert naturally covers any stain. I use 300gsm card which is quite thick. I have also, in the past, cut a smaller piece of card, punched and stamped a sentiment on it before attaching with double sided tape to cover any marks. (Nestabilities?)
