Clean and simple style - not as easy as it may appear

The variety of cards being made out there in Craftworld is awe-inspiring. I don't have a particular style that I favour, really. However, I am veering towards the Clean and Simple (CAS) technique for today! I avidly follow Susan Raihala. Her work is perfection and it always seems to me, as I follow her blog, that it is often far more difficult to get it right with the less is more approach. What appears to be a quick card is often the result of an hour of positioning and repositioning elements. Mistakes cannot be hidden ........as I know to my cost. I have a number of cards that haven't turned out to my satisfaction - smudges, wrong positioning of stamp, wrong colour etc.. (You've been there I know)

I will, of course, reuse these when creating another style of card which requires background paper to cover the base. My mistakes will then disappear from view.

This is one of the cards from last night with the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set.

Oh, this card is so wonderful! Love the soft green paper and slightly darker ink. Wonderful!

And yes, simple isn't easy, is it? But it IS beautiful! Thank you for your kind words!

Oh how I love the cards you make! My favorite of the Pocket Silhouettes is the one that's purple with the images in embossed white. I too began my stamping with the embossing technique....I love to watch the magic of powder suddenly changing like it does. My only gripe is that so many embossing powders are too coarse to use on details stamps like the Pocket Silhouettes. The sentiment from that set always looks smudged.

Thanks for sharing your huge talent!
